PEMBROKESHIRE Young Farmers have been busy over the last few weeks competing in a variety of public speaking competitions.
The English public speaking day was held in December in Pembrokeshire College with junior members competing in reading and speaking competitions; intermediate members in a Brainstrust competition and senior members in mace debating of various topics.
The winning teams were: junior reading - Fishguard YFC; junior speaking - Llawhaden YFC; intermediate Brainstrust - Fishguard YFC; senior mace debating - Templeton YFC.
The overall English public speaking winners were Keyston YFC and Fishguard YFC.
More recently in January, members competed in the Welsh Public Speaking day held in Ysgol Y Preseli.
Junior members competed in reading and speaking competitions, while intermediate members took part in a debating competition and senior members in the Brainstrust.
Winning teams were: junior reading - Eglwyswrw YFC; junior speaking - Eglwyswrw YFC and Fishguard YFC; intermediate debating - Hermon YFC and senior Brainstrust - Hermon YFC.
