Milford Haven museum has been awarded the national quality museum standard.
The town’s museum has been officially accredited by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA), which sets nationally-agreed standards for all UK museums.
To meet the requirements of the MLA’s museum accreditation scheme the museum demonstrated that it had achieved clearly defined standards relating to governance, management, service for users, visitor facilities and collections’ management.
Museum Trust chairman Eric Harries said: “I am very pleased that the museum has achieved this coveted status and would like to thank staff for all their hard work in enabling this magnificent result.
“I would also like to thank the county’s Museum Service for the help and advice given to the town museum.” The museum re-opened for the new season on Easter Monday.
