A new exhibition opens at the Torch Theatre’s Oriel Joanna Field Gallery will showcase the work of Pembrokeshire artist Jennie Shales.
Shales from Lowertown, Fishguard, paints in a variety of beautiful locations in Pembrokeshire.
The idyllic and changing landscape of county‘s coastline and countryside offers many beautiful places to work and Shales likes nothing more than head out onto the coast and be there ‘in the moment’.
Working on location, Shales - usually accompanied by her ‘step dog’ Rosie - uses chalk pastels, acrylics, watercolour or a mixture of all three, and she has more recently been experimenting with a mixture of media and techniques, such as using mono-printing as a background and overlaying with some chalk pastels.
Her work features on walls in homes in the UK, Canada, America, Australia, South Africa, Dubai, Sweden, Thailand, Borneo, France and Spain.
This exhibition runs from Monday, February 4, until Friday, February 22, and can be viewed at all times when the theatre and adjoining café is open.
More of her work can be viewed on her Facebook page, Jennie Shales Art.
The Oriel Joanna Field Gallery features the best of Pembrokeshire’s vibrant arts scene alongside work from further afield.
