A new exhibition at the Torch Theatre's Oriel Joanna Field Gallery will showcase the work of Dublin-born, Pembrokeshire-based artist Beth McColl Moyse in her exhibition entitled Seahorses, And Other Quadrupeds.

Describing the inspiration for her work, Beth said: "I grew up in Dublin and spent wild summer holidays in a far-away cottage way out west, with no electricity and water pumped from a pond.

"After marriage, we lived and worked in London many years, before moving here to dwell amidst beautiful scenery and glorious, shimmering light which remind me of those carefree holidays and provide inspiration for my paintings.

"Since childhood I have been drawing and painting, experimenting with different media, but I now enjoy the freedom and bright hues of acrylic paints.

"I carry my camera wherever I go and take photos of the stunning Pembrokeshire scenery, flora and fauna, to use as source material for my original paintings.

" I enjoy painting recognisable landscapes which include animals, dogs, horses, perhaps some sparrows hiding in the bushes or a butterfly visiting a flower.

"My aim is to convey the peace and serenity of Pembrokeshire’s outstanding beauty, so the viewer can take home something to recall to their mind the tranquillity of this wonderful place."

This exhibition runs from Monday, November 4, to Friday, November 29, and can be viewed at all times when the theatre and adjoining café is open.
