MILFORD Haven Library received their Investors in Carers Bronze award recently.
It means carers in and around Milford Haven can access the town’s library for information on what is available to them.
The Investors in Carers scheme is a quality assurance scheme that helps organisations become more carer aware; enabling them to help and support society’s carers.
Staff at the library were on hand to collect the award from Pembrokeshire County Council’s head of cultural, leisure and registration services Mike Cavanagh and the authority’s Carers Champion, Councillor Mike James.
“Receiving this award is a great boost for us and for carers,” says Tracy Collins, Site Coordinator at Milford Haven Library.
“It means we can help and advise carers in accessing the relevant information they may not be aware they are entitled to.
“It doesn’t matter if a carer just drops by or whether they attend one of our monthly carers’ group meetings, we’re always on hand to help them.”
The library’s monthly carers’ meetings are held every first Monday of the month.
