Samuel Kurtz MS and Will Bramble, the newly appointed chief executive of Pembrokeshire County Council, both recently took their first visit to Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre.

The two learned on their visits of the unique and important place that the community has in Britain’s maritime and military story.

Senedd member for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire Sam Kurtz, was welcomed on Friday, October 22, by the chairman of Pembroke Dock Heritage Trust, Graham Clarkson, trustees, staff and volunteers.

Graham said: “We were delighted when our MS accepted our invitation and he was most interested in our progress since we moved into the former Dockyard Chapel. He has pledged to help us as we develop our plans.”

Will Bramble, a former army major general and royal artilleryman, toured the centre and was briefed on the town’s long and successful connections with all three armed services – the Royal Navy, the Army and the RAF. His former regiment is one of many which saw long service in the town during 150 years of association with the Army.

For the visit he was joined by the leader of the county council, Councillor David Simpson.
