Goodwick United 0 Carew 3
CAREW eased their relegation worries with an emphatic three-goal victory over Goodwick United at Phoenix Park.
The hosts' confidence was shattered after last week's senior cup penalty shoot-out defeat at Monkton Swifts, and this week they lacked the heart and desire confessed manager Bernie Armstrong.
Carew deservedly picked up their fourth win of the campaign, and with both Milford United and Prendergast Villa losing, they now look relatively safe from the drop.
All the goals came in the second period, James Buckle lashing past Carl Woodhouse for the opener. Veteran Paul Bullock slotting home the second and near the end Buckle added his second of the day from the penalty spot.
Goodwick United: Carl Woodhouse, Martin Griffiths, Richard Bookless, Anthony Couzens, Darren Devonald, Barry Hayes, Robert Couzens, Kieran OíBrien, Ricky Bowen, Steve Evans Jnr. Sub: Patrick Hughes.
Carew: Ian Kerrison, Kris Stone, Martin Scourfield, Daryl John, Adam Chandler, Ian Sefton, Paul Bullock, Neilson Cole, James Buckle, Grant Weston, Adam Hughes.
Referee: Dean Boswell.
