Two young women have made history at a local Girl Guiding group.

Amber Tadman and Gwenna Kennerley from First Letterston Guides have both achieved their Gold Award, the first guides to do so in the guiding group’s six year history.

This is a challenging award that involves completing skills builders and activities in unit meetings in six different themes, and also completing an interest badge for each theme at home.

The themes include 'skills for my future', 'have adventures' and 'take action'. The girls have taken part in activities from cooking ethically to toasting marshmallows on camp fires.

They have also looked at what Girl Guides did to help out during the war and taken part in adventurous activities at PGL and Llangrannog.

Anna and Gwenna also made their Guide promise and found out about the next stage in Guiding (Rangers) and finally completed an adventurous First Letterston Guides extended huge congratulations to both Gwenna and Amber.

Any girl is interested in joining Girl Guiding in Pembrokeshire, should log their interest via the Guiding website https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/. A unit leader will then be in touch.

First Letterston Guides is also always looking for volunteers who can help out.
