Dear editor, IT IS not just fishermen who should be concerned at the proposal to create three Marine Conservation Zones (MCZs) in the waters off Pembrokeshire. (Calling all Fishermen, Letterbox, Mercury June 28). We should all be concerned. At a recent general briefing given by Milford Haven Port Authority (MHPA), county councillors were told by the authority’s chief executive Alec Don that the potential conservation zones would be “disastrous for the port”, and “very damaging to the economy.” He was especially concerned at the impact on the port’s many operations if the local sites Skomer and Dale were to become MCZs, If you wish to make your voice heard about these controversial proposals, then contact the Welsh Government at marine@wales. gsi.gov.uk The consultation ends on July 31.
