LOCAL ladies have raised more than £1,800 for a charity that helps people all over Wales.
The Soroptimists International of Milford Haven decided to raise money for Cancer Research Wales because so many members have suffered from the disease, or know someone who has been affected.
£1,870 was raised by holding a Harvest Lunch and a very successful raffle which was kindly match-funded by Barclays Bank.
Members were most grateful to Soroptimist Janet Hicks, a former Barclays employee, for helping access this funding.
