Pembrokeshire Lido Park Society has secured major funding to revive tennis in the community.
The package from the Dan Maskell Tennis Trust marks a pivotal point in the collaboration between the Society and local organisations such as Milford Haven Tennis Club, Milford Youth Matters, and Value Independence, aiming to revive tennis at St Katherine's Green Courts.
The funding has enabled the society to buy popup portable nets and offer 30 hours of customised coaching for the disabled and young.
This will boost accessibility and inclusion of tennis whilst offering opportunities for skill development and involvement among different groups.
Tennis Wales has also supplemented the effort with new equipment and balls for 2024.
Marialejandra Coronado, spokesperson for the Society, said: "Working together with our partners has proven highly effective in advancing our shared goal of promoting tennis participation and accessibility.
"Under the leadership of Queenie Scale at the tennis club, we have witnessed strong senior tennis growth. Also working with Dayle Gibby of Milford Youth Matters, 24 young people enjoyed regular tennis in 2023, a trend that will continue and grow into 2024.
"Moreover, with improved access for chair users nearing completion, disabled clients and carers of Value Independence will soon be able to utilise the courts, further expanding our reach and impact."
